Backstage video of SMTOWN Paris released

Although the recent ‘SMTOWN Live in Paris’, held on June 10th and 11at the Zenith, showcased the artists’ powerful performances and stage presence, the recently uploaded backstage video (below) showed the singers in a different light.

The video shows the artists trying to learn French, discussing who had the most popularity in Europe, the boys of Super Junior speaking out about their female drag costumes, and much more!

Lee Hongki tweets from the gym

FT Island’s main vocalist, Lee Hongki, shared a snapshot of himself at the gym recently via Twitter. Apparently, he wants his fans to know that he’s not all about the manicures.

Hongki posted, “First time exercising in a long time,” along with a photo revealing that he was indeed inside of a gym with sweat, gloves, and work out equipment as evidence.

Fans responded to his tweet saying, “I’m imagining you working out,” and “Working out on top of your busy schedule! Fighting!”

FT Island made a come back last month with their new mini-album, “RETURN,” after a year of preparation, and is currently performing their title track “Hello Hello.”

“Birth of a Great Star” contestant Noh Ji Hoon signs with Cube Entertainment

Cube Entertainment seems to be sweeping up every new talent out there! Following the addition of MBC’s “Birth of a Great Star” contestant Yoon Gun Hee, fellow contestant Noh Ji Hoon has also been revealed to be joining the Cube family.

On June 16th, representatives of Cube Entertainment revealed, “Noh Ji Hoon had his potential as a star largely recognized through ‘Birth of a Great Star.’ He will now become a family member of B2ST, 4minute, and G.NA. We will do our best in supporting his growth as an Asian star.”

They continued, “Like B2ST, 4minute, and G.NA, Noh Ji Hoon has the ability to perform and sing live at the same time.”

Noh Ji Hoon himself commented, “I’m now a Cube family member. I’m very excited and I promise to work hard. I will repay all of the support I’ve received from everyone by becoming a great singer.”

Autopsy results for Daesung’s accident delayed

The autopsy results for the car accident involving Big Bang’s Daesung, a taxi driver, and a motorcyclist have been delayed to the end of next week.

Originally scheduled to be released today, Seoul police stated that the results will now be released next weekend. Their official press release explained, “Because they wished to be extremely thorough with their investigations, the National Forensic Service told us the results would be slightly delayed.”

The report will determine if Daesung caused the death of motorcyclist Hyun, who was reportedly on the ground already before Daesung ran over him and crashed into a parked taxi. The autopsy results are expected to reveal a key point in the investigation, which will determine the course of the case afterwards.

Lee Min Ho returns to the ‘City Hunter’ set, just a day after his car accident

It’s only been a day since Lee Min Ho got into a car accident, but the actor is back on set to continue filming for SBS’s “City Hunter“.

A representative revealed, “Despite the severity of the accident on June 13th, Lee Min Ho is back on the film set. The producers advised him to stay home and rest, but he was determined to get back and continue from where he left off.”

He continued, “Lee Min Ho received emergency care and an examination after his accident, and results have shown that he is not injured and that it would be okay for him to return to filming. Producer Hong Chong Chan, who was also involved in the accident, is preparing for his discharge as well.”

The representative went on to explain how the accident came about. “The accident that occurred on the 13th wasn’t from a chase or an action scene, but is part of the one main scenes that will be broadcast on the 16th. It happened while we were filming ‘Yoon Sung’ inside of a speeding car.”

Cube releases ‘United Cube Concert Episode 2′, starring Nam Ji Hyun

Cube Entertainment is back with the second episode of their ‘Fantasy Land‘ teasers for their upcoming family concert!

This time, the segment starts off with 4minute’s Ji Hyun mass-texting everyone after she gets inspired by an idea on set. After drinking from a water bottle, she cheerfully chirps, “Do you know, do you know?“, and informs everyone of a special water event at the concert. She adds that it’ll be refreshing, and that everyone should prepare to get wet.

B2ST holds surprise event at Shinjuku Station Square

Earlier today on June 14th, popular Korean group B2ST / BEAST held a surprise live event at Tokyo, Shinjuku Station Square. At the surprise event, they performed their new song, “BAD GIRL“ and their Japanese debut song, “SHOCK“ in front of fans.

This event was held to promote their new single “BAD GIRL” which will be released on June 15th. Although, there was no prior announcements related to this event, approximately 5,000 fans gathered to see the popular group perform. Sadly, the group’s leader Yoon Doo Joon couldn’t make this event because of his conflicting schedule but when the rest of the members got on the stage, the fans didn’t mind much as there was a lot of loud screaming. As soon as they got on the stage, B2ST greeted the fans saying “Hello!” with a smile and started to perform “BAD GIRL.” Right before they performed their second song, the members of B2ST who were present all introduced themselves in Japanese and promoted their new single.

Yurika (20), who’s from Yokohama, commented, “I heard that there was a stage set up in Shinjuku through Twitter so I decided to come. I’m glad that B2ST really came because I was already excited that it was the day of B2ST’s single release. It was exciting to see them directly like this.”

Immediately after B2ST’s guerrilla live, SNS sites began trending keywords like “BEAST”, “Guerrilla Live”, and “Shinjuku B2ST.”

Super Junior places second on Oricon Weekly Chart

It was announced that popular Korean dance performance group, SUPER JUNIOR who released their first Japanese single, “BONAMANA” on June 8th, sold a total of 59,262 copies in it’s first week. With this result and despite the lack of promotions, they’ve placed second on the Oricon Weekly Chart for June 20th.

For the Korean Group category, SUPER JUNIOR has broken the sales record of “2PM” who sold 59,059 copies for “Take off” in it’s first week. In addition, they broke the record of other Korean groups who debuted in second place on the Oricon Weekly Chart such as B2ST with “SHOCK” and MBLAQ with “Your Luv.”

KARA's Gyuri cast for "200 pound beauty" musical

KARA’s leader Park Gyuri will be making her musical debut with “200 Pounds Beauty“!
Gyuri has been cast for the lead role of ‘Kang Han Byul’ and will be joining the cast this October in Osaka, Japan for an Asian tour. Fans in Korea will be able to see her in the end of November at the CJ Art Center.
For those unfamiliar with the plot, Gyuri will be playing an overweight woman who possesses amazing vocal talent. Due to her physical appearance, however, she is forced to hide herself and sing as a substitute for other prettier artists. Determined to live her own life, she goes under the knife to fix her entire body, and becomes ‘reborn’ as a beautiful new person.
KARA will also be releasing their fourth single album, “Go Go Summer“, on June 29th, so stay tuned!

JYP Ent. denies rumor of a new 7 member idols group

Rumors of a new seven member male idol group under JYP Entertainment have been circulating on portal sites lately, but representatives have confirmed that the rumors are false.

On June 15th, a post was uploaded onto a Daum message board that read, “JYP’s next seven member idol group, ‘2THE.0‘, will debut. The boys first made an appearance at the Wonder Girls‘ showcase as a quintet group under the name of ‘Cruciferous Flower‘. After Min and Lee Kyu Min moved from JYP USA to JYP headquarters in Korea, rumors of their debut have become more definite.”
When asked about the post, representatives of JYP responded, “Most of the members (Seo Min Hyung, Lee Tsuri, Lee Min) are no longer with JYP Entertainment. There’s a possibility that one of the members mentioned in the post fabricated the entire story himself.”

YG-Life update fans on 2NE1's new mini-album + concert

On June 15th, CEO Yang Hyun Suk updated YG Entertainment’s ‘YG-Life‘ blog with some new info about 2NE1’s new mini-album, as well as their first solo concert.

The post reads:

“June 24th will see the release of the digital single, <I’m the Best>.

First of all, I would like to apologize for the delayed releases of 2NE1’s new songs due to internal problems. Following behind ‘Don’t Cry‘ and ‘Lonely‘ will be 2NE1’s newest track, ‘I’m the Best’, which is scheduled for June 24th.
The song was produced by YG’s main producer, Teddy, and is an electronic hip hop track that’s reminiscent of 2NE1’s debut song, ‘Fire‘. The style of the song will definitely be familiar to the youth who are used to clubbing culture.
Unlike the previous two songs, we do have plans of promoting this one on music programs. It will be the first time in nine months that the girls will promote actively on air after they concluded their first album promotions last year.
The music video for the song was directed by Seo Hyun Seung and will be released at 12:00 AM KST on the 24th concurrently with the digital single.
Our current date of release for 2NE1’s mini-album is July 21st. It will include the three releases, as well as two new tracks. Because it is an album that we have been working on for a long time, we have a lot of things planned. Further information will be updated at a later time.

On August 27th and 28th, 2NE1 will be holding their first solo concert at the Olympic Hall in Olympic Park. The hall can seat 4,000 people per concert. Although it isn’t a big concert compared to other YG concerts, we wanted to make sure that 2NE1 would be able to work closely with their fans since it’s their first concert.
Tickets will be available for sale on July 7th, and further information will be posted on YG and 2NE1’s homepages next week.
Regarding ‘2NE1 Season 3‘, the broadcast date has yet to be finalized. ‘YG ON AIR‘ will continue to be broadcast in a guerrilla fashion, where we film whenever we have good ideas.
2NE1 will be crossing over to Japan in September after their Korean promotions for about two months of debut and promotional activities.

B2ST's YO SEOB TWEETS "I'M CRANKY..." ON KISS DAY

Korea celebrated ‘Kiss Day’ on June 14th, where loved ones share kisses in public and it’s not considered as ‘PDA’, or ‘public displays of affection’. But not everyone gets to participate in this event, which explains Yoseob’s cranky tweet.

The B2ST idol tweeted, “It’s Kiss Day? Yoseob is cranky. ChuChuChuChuChu!”. Hilariously, he attached two pictures of himself looking discontented at first, before hecheered up and decided to blow kisses to his fans instead.
Netizens wrote, “He’s so cute,” or “My heart is beating,” and “He looks really upset.”
It’s ok, Yoseob. We’re sure that given half the chance, fans would be leaping at the chance to fix your dilemma.

EAST COAST AUDITIONESS PICK JYP ENT. AS THEIR LABLE OF CHOICE

JYP Entertainment Auditions in New York City

where hundreds of aspiring singers and dancers from all over the East Coast swarmed downtown Manhattan for a chance of becoming JYPE’s next breakthrough K-pop star.

The company’s global vision has caught the attention of talented individuals, and the rainy weather was no deterrent for these hopefuls, who patiently stood in lines that wrapped around several blocks.

Closer to the elevator doors, allkpop was able to spend some time with the auditionees minutes prior to taking their place before the judging panel. Even with so much unique talent in the building, one thing was evident; these people all shared a deep-seated desire to be JYPE artists and students under the promising guidance of J.Y. Park. Below are some of the auditionees we met that day!

Alli Serencko, 20, drove with a friend from Middletown, Delaware to showcase her 16-years of dance experience. Although trained in ballet in her formative years, her skill easily allowed her to master hip hop, jazz, tap, lyrical, and contemporary as well. As an avid consumer of K-pop music for several years, Miss A ranks at the top of her favorites with their catchy English lyrics and refreshing delivery as a new girl group on the rise. Alli told allkpop, “I’ve listened to Korean music for 6 years, and [JYPE] is intriguing, they’re something new and something different.” Having watched many of Miss A’s music videos and performances, she learned the group’s dances and truly brought together her two passions.

Leann Kwak, 16, made her way to New York City from Maryland. At the start of her summer vacation, JYPE auditions couldn’t have come at a better time, and she came ready with a group of friends and a passion for singing. Leann stated, “JYP considers how much you want it, your passion. You have to show how much you want it and that’s genuine.” Leann’s favorite K-pop groups hail from JYPE, and she also greatly admires J.Y. Park and the label for their investment in each of the artists’ passion and dreams. Having recognized her own true passion and big dream, she hopes that JYPE recognizes it as well.

Cube Entertainment reveals official poster for “United Cube Concert”

Cube Entertainment’s first ever family concert, “United Cube“, has finally unveiled their official poster image!

As reported earlier, the concert will be done under the theme, “Fantasy Land“, and so the poster is meant to be an expression of the infinite possibilities of the unknown.

Cube artists B2ST, 4minute, and G.NA act as puzzle pieces in the poster, whose individual charisma comes together to create a picture of wonder and mystique.

To suit the theme, the stars were dressed in a modern, magician-like style.

MTV's idol attraction show-down reality program 'Match Up' will be premiering on 22 June at 11pm.

'Match Up' is a reality program that showcases the different styles and attractions of rookie idol groups B1A4 and Block B. The two teams that have been receiving a lot of attention recently will show off their musicality color and distinctive characters in this showoff.

Attracting attention for being produced by hiphop artiste Cho PD, Block B is known to be a talented idol group with skills in writing, composing and producing, with honest charms. On the other hand , B1A4 has been headlining as a group with not only a flower boy visual appearance, but also superb vocal, composing and writing skills. The combination of the two teams' different talents and charms will be revealed.

'Match Up' is estimated to have eight episodes, featuring the two idol groups at the set of their new music video shoot, practices for music program schedules, performances - appealing that they are not idol groups that succeed through their visuals.

Aside from their variety of musical skills, you will be able to see the charms and variety sense of these twelve boys through various missions and their daily lives.
